Pre-requisites: Successful completion of 2 semesters of MPhil CLTS coursework.

Aim: This is not a conventional taught course but forms an integral terminal point for coursework in the CLTS research programmes. It brings together researchers in a cohort in a symposium setting to discuss, formulate and reorganize the fundamental issues in each scholar’s research project. These include: arriving at a comprehensive methodology, finessing the immediate research goals, integrate the project with global concerns in the discipline, inventorying keywords and ideas in the scholar’s project that are of global relevance and finally to smoothen any ethical questions or difficulties that scholars may encounter as part of their dissertation writing process.

Course Outcomes:

  1. Recognizing and expressing the roadblocks in the research process.
  2. Deriving creative solutions to such roadblocks.
  3. Reproducing the research process through a dialogue with fellow researchers.

Brief description of modules/ Main modules:

  1. The course follows a practicum format and draws on a particular cohort’s research interests/agendas to formulate a weekly plan of presentations, peer review sessions, book reviews, making blueprints for research questions.
